Bookham Food Festival (“Event”)

Terms & Conditions of Entry

General

  1. Your possession of a ticket constitutes your acceptance of these T&Cs.

  2. “Us”, “We”, “Our” means the promoters of Bookham Food Festival - Bookham Eats Limited - and/or its representatives, employees and sub-contractors.

  3. We reserve the right to implement restrictions/conditions before and during the Event to ensure it is safe.  You must comply with any and all instructions given to you by Event staff and stewards and you may be ejected from the Event site without a refund if you fail to comply.

  4. We reserve the right to refuse admission or to remove any person from the site, without refund, for reasons of public safety, any unacceptable behaviour likely to cause damage, nuisance or injury, or for any breach of these T&Cs.

  5. Tickets are for the Event and any billed participants and attractions may be subject to change.

  6. No trading or promotional activity is allowed within the site without Our prior written consent.

  7. These T&Cs are subject to change from time to time in our sole discretion and We will notify you by posting the amended T&Cs to the Event website – www.bookhamfoodfestival.co.uk

  8. We shall have no liability for any loss, injury, illness or damage to any person or property sustained at the Event howsoever caused (including by Us and Our agents) in any circumstances unless caused as a direct result of Our negligence and that which cannot by law be excluded or limited. Any personal property brought to the Event is at your own risk.

  9. These T&Cs are governed by English Law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with these T&Cs shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Age Policy & Alcohol

  1. All attendees aged 18 years old and over need an Adult ticket to attend.

  2. All attendees aged under 18 years old need a Child ticket to attend

  3. No one aged under 14 years old is allowed on site unaccompanied.

  4. We do not accept any parental or supervisory duty of care or liability for any under 18s on site.

  5. We and our suppliers operate a strict Challenge 21 policy at the Event bar/s and valid ID is required to buy and drink alcohol.

  6. We only accept the following forms of ID at the bar: Valid Photo Driving Licence, Valid Provisional Photo Driving Licence, Valid Passport, Valid PASS card from the National Proof of Age Standards Scheme (this is the best form of ID to bring if you don’t want to bring a valuable document). ID must be original. No copies or photos will be accepted. We reserve the right to refuse service if, in our opinion (including that of any third parties instructed by us) there is any doubt that the ticket holder is under the age requirement.

  7. Anyone under the age of 18 caught drinking or in the possession of alcohol will have the alcohol confiscated and may be ejected from the Event without any refund.

  8. Anyone over the age of 18 caught buying alcohol for someone under the age of 18 will be ejected (together with, at our discretion, anyone in the same party) from the Event without any refund.

Tickets & Refunds

  1. Tickets must be produced and scanned on entry, departure and any subsequent re-entry.

  2. Tickets remain Our property until the Event closes and are a personal revocable licence which may be withdrawn and admission refused at any time.

  3. We will not issue duplicates for lost or stolen tickets.

  4. Tickets cannot be used as part of any marketing, media or sales promotion, without Our prior written consent.

  5. If you have obtained your ticket in breach of these T&Cs and/or if you breach any of these T&Cs then your ticket shall be void, and all rights conferred on you or evidenced by such ticket shall be void. If you seek to gain entry to the Event using a void ticket then we reserve the right to refuse you entry to or evict you from the Event and you may be liable for trespass. Void tickets are non-refundable.

  6. Refunds are only considered if the Event is (i) cancelled in full and not rescheduled or (ii) materially altered which is a change (other than a rescheduling) which, in Our opinion, makes the Event materially different to the Event that ticket purchasers, taken generally, could reasonably expect. The following are not deemed to be ‘material alterations’: changes to the Event line-up; adverse weather conditions; curtailment of the Event where the majority of the Event is performed; and delays to the starting time of the Event.

  7. Refunds must be requested no later than two weeks after the Event.

  8. Refunds of any booking fees per ticket or per order fees are subject to the terms and conditions of the point of sale.

  9. Personal arrangements relating to the Event including, but not limited to, travel, are at your own risk and We shall not be liable for any losses incurred from personal arrangements or wasted expenditure beyond the ticket refund.

  10. It is your responsibility to check that the Event has not been cancelled, rescheduled or made the subject of a Material Alteration. Information on such matters will be made available as soon as reasonably practicable on the Event website and/or at the Event venue. Customers are advised that the website cannot always be updated immediately and that circumstances giving rise to cancellation, postponement or Material alterations can sometimes arise immediately prior to an Event. We advise you to check www.bookhamfoodfestival.co.uk before you travel.

 

Filming & Photography

 

  1. Unauthorised photography, video, audio recording and transmission of the Event, including the hosts and participants of cooking demonstrations, for professional purposes or financial gain is strictly forbidden.

  2. Professional audio and imaging equipment are not permitted to be brought to the Event without prior written consent from Us.

  3. By entering the site, you give your express consent to your actual/simulated likeness to be included for no fee within any audio or visual recording to be used in any media for the purposes of marketing.

Health & Safety

  1. To ensure the safety of our attendees, from time to time We may have to restrict entry at gates. Any delays will be kept to a minimum however it is your responsibility to make appropriate arrangements to ensure that you arrive at the Event in sufficient time (taking into account time required for queuing (and potentially searching) to enter the Event).

  2. Most of the Event takes place outdoors on a greenfield site which may be uneven in places and conditions underfoot may be affected by weather and heavy footfall. You should take reasonable precautions to avoid suffering injury, including, without limitation, wearing sensible shoes and taking care in areas where ground is uneven or has been affected by adverse weather.

  3. Fires and the burning of any materials is not permitted anywhere on the Event site.

  4. Smoking (including e-cigarettes and/or vaping) is not permitted in enclosed spaces such as tents and the Old Barn building.

  5. Strobe lighting and/or special effects may be used during the evening.

  6. All those attending the Event do so at their own risk.

Security & Banned Items

  1. All ticketholders consent to a potential security search of persons, clothing, bags and any other items deemed necessary anywhere at the Venue.

  2. If you leave the site, you may be searched upon re-admittance.

  3. Refusal to consent to such searches will result in the non-consenting ticket holders being denied entry (resulting in the ticket not being valid for entry, and, if already entered, ejection from the Event) without refund.

  4. Without liability to you, We shall be entitled to confiscate any item(s) which may reasonably be considered to be a weapon (or used as a weapon) or which may cause danger, offence or disruption to any other person.

  5. Any person suspected of carrying illegal items or carrying out illegal activity may be handed over to the Police, refused entry or evicted from the site without a refund.

  6. If you are refused entry to the Event, or have been previously ejected, you may not purchase another ticket or otherwise gain entry.

  7. Failure to produce the appropriate receipt/ticket or pass, when so requested, may result in ejection from the Event, without later claim or compensation.

  8. Anti-social behaviour of any sort at the Event is not permitted and you may be ejected, entirely at Our discretion, without a refund.

  9. Items banned from the Event include; aerosols; air horns, alcohol (unless purchased on site), animals (other than registered assistance dogs), any item which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon, excessive amounts of food (unless purchased on site), fireworks / flares, glass, illegal substances, knives, ‘legal highs’, medications (unless in sealed, unbroken packaging), nitrous oxide, more than one 500ml sealed bottle of water/soft drink, smoke canisters, spray cans, unauthorised professional film or video equipment, unofficial tabards or reflective jackets.   10. No unauthorised vehicles are allowed on site.

  11. No alcohol is permitted to be taken into, or taken from, the Event.

  12. No excessive amounts of food - only a reasonable amount for personal consumption at Our discretion - is permitted on entry to the Event.

  13. If you need to bring specific food or drink or medication due to a pre-existing medical condition, please bring supporting medical evidence.

  14. Items that are surrendered or confiscated will not be returned. Anyone resisting the surrender of banned items will face ejection from the Event, at Our discretion, without a refund.
